Cosmological data reveal a dark energy with a negative equation of state w=P/ρ 0 to Λ=0 in an assumed first-order phase transition. From arguments about stimulated nucleation it is shown that the critical nucleation radius must be at least of galactic size. The spontaneous nucleation rate is infinitesimal thus explaining the dark energy's extreme stability. Dark energy detection at subgalactic scales will never be possible.

Possibility of Cosmic Time Going Back in Some Dark Energy Model Universe

In the course of investigating a universe dominated by phantom dark energy it is found that the idea of negative cosmic time, or in other words, reversing the present arrow of time is valid in such a

Observational constraints on low redshift evolution of dark energy: How consistent are different observations?

The dark energy component of the Universe is often interpreted either in terms of a cosmological constant or as a scalar field. A generic feature of the scalar field models is that the equation of

Seeking evolution of dark energy

We study how observationally to distinguish between a cosmological constant (CC) and an evolving dark energy with equation of state ω(Z). We focus on the value of redshift Z∗ at which the cosmic late

Magnetized anisotropic dark energy models with constant deceleration parameter

In this paper, we have studied the solutions of plane-symmetric Universe with variable ω in the presence and the absence of magnetic field of energy density ρB. A special law of variation for

Magnetized anisotropic dark energy cosmological models in scale covariant theory of gravitation

In the present paper, we have investigated Bianchi type II, VIII and IX spacetime in the presence of magnetized anisotropic dark energy in the Scale covariant theory of gravitation. Exact solution of

A note on the innocuous implications of a minimum length in quantum gravity

A modification to the time–energy uncertainty relation in quantum gravity has been interpreted as increasing the duration of fluctuations producing virtual black holes with masses greater than the

Phantom with Born-Infield type Lagrangian

Recent analysis of the observation data indicates that the equation of state of the dark energy might be smaller than -1, which leads to the introduction of phantom models featured by its negative

Scalar field dark energy perturbations and their scale dependence

We estimate the amplitude of perturbation in dark energy at different length scales for a quintessence model with an exponential potential. It is shown that on length scales much smaller than Hubble

Hypersurface-homogeneous space-time with anisotropic dark energy in scalar tensor theory of gravitation

The exact solutions of the field equations for Hypersurface-homogeneous space time under the assumption on the anisotropy of the fluid (dark energy) are obtained for exponential and power-law

Discriminating between models for the dark energy

Recent measurements suggest our Universe has a substantial dark energy component, which is usually interpreted in terms of a cosmological constant. Here we examine how much the form of this dark

Observational constraints on general relativistic energy conditions, cosmic matter density and dark energy from X-ray clusters of galaxies and type-Ia supernovae

New observational constraints on the cosmic matter density Ωm and an effectively redshift-independent equation of state parameter wx of the dark energy are obtained while simultaneously testing the

Vacuum Instability and Higgs Scalar Mass

A procedure is given to estimate the decay probability of a metastable vacuum state in quantum field theory. As an application, in the Weinberg-Salam model the lower bound (for theta/sub W/=35degree)

Can the dark energy equation - of - state parameter w be less than -1?

Models of dark energy are conveniently characterized by the equation-of-state parameter $w=p/\ensuremath{\rho},$ where $\ensuremath{\rho}$ is the energy density and p is the pressure. Imposing the

Modified Dispersion Relations from Closed Strings in Toroidal Cosmology

A long-standing problem of theoretical physics is the exceptionally small value of the cosmological constant $\ensuremath{\Lambda}\ensuremath{\sim}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}120}$ measured in natural

The state of the dark energy equation of state

By combining data from seven cosmic microwave background experiments (including the latest WMAP results) with the Hubble parameter measurement from the Hubble space telescope and luminosity
