Growing individualization of products up to lot-size-1 and high volatility of product mixes lead to new challenges in the manufacturing domain, including the need for frequent reconfiguration of the system and reacting to changing orders. Thus, apart from functional aspects, safety aspects of the production system as well as product quality assurance aspects must be addressed for flexible and reconfigurable manufacturing systems at runtime. To cope with the mentioned challenges, we present an…

Model-Based Safety Analysis Final Report
TLDR
The vision of model-based safety analysis is presented, an approach in which the system and safety engineers share a common system model created using a model-bas ed development process, and automated support can be provided for much of the safety analysis.
Automating the failure modes and effects analysis of safety critical systems
TLDR
A new approach to the automatic synthesis of FMEAs is proposed which builds upon recent work towards automating fault tree analysis and is generic, i.e. not restricted to an application domain, and potentially applicable to a range of widely used engineering models.
A proposal for model-based safety analysis
TLDR
This paper proposes an approach, Model-Based Safety Analysis, in which the system and safety engineers use the same system models created during a model-based development process, which can both reduce the cost and improve the quality of the safety analysis.
Integrated risk assessment and safety consideration during design of HRC workplaces
TLDR
An iterative design method utilizing model-driven risk assessment and decision support is presented, that automatically identifies potential hazards in a workplace design and estimates the impact of necessary safety measures, with regard to the KPIs investment cost, operational cost, cycle time and flexibility.
