The Space Station Freedom (SSF) altitude strategy provides guidelines and assumptionsto determine an altitude profile for Freedom. The process for determining an altitude profile incorporates several factors such as where the Space Shuttle will rendezvous with the SSF, when reboosts must occur, and what atmospheric conditions exist causing decay.
