In this paper we develop a SIR epidemiological model with parameters calculated according to existing data at the time of writing (24/03/2020); the data is from Italy, South Korea and Colombia, the model is then used to project the evolution of the COVID-19 epidemic in Colombia for different scenarios using the data of population for the country and known initial conditions at the start of the simulation.
Nonlinear dynamic analysis of an epidemiological model for COVID-19 including public behavior and government action
TLDR
A nonlinear susceptible, exposed, infectious and removed transmission model with added behavioral and government policy dynamics is used and a genetic algorithm technique is developed to identify key model parameters employing COVID-19 data from South Korea. Expand
A modified SEIR Model with Confinement and Lockdown of COVID-19 for Costa Rica
TLDR
An SEIR model is extended to include a confinement compartment (SEICR) and this is used to explain data from COVID-19 epidemic in Costa Rica and possible second wave of infection is discussed by adding a time varying function in the model to simulate cyclic interventions. Expand
COVID-19 Pandemic Outbreak in the Subcontinent: A data-driven analysis
TLDR
This paper uses publicly available epidemiological data of Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan to estimate the reproduction numbers and uses various models (for example, susceptible infection recovery (SIR), exponential growth (EG), sequential Bayesian (SB), maximum likelihood (ML) and time dependent (TD) to observe the model fitness in the corresponding data set. Expand
Variational-LSTM Autoencoder to forecast the spread of coronavirus across the globe
TLDR
A novel variational LSTM-Autoencoder model to predict the spread of coronavirus for each country across the globe and learns to generate graph to adjust the spatial dependences among different countries while forecasting the spread is introduced. Expand
Facing the Pandemic Together: Forming a Collaborative Research Group
This is an account of how a reading and writing project in an introductory differential equations course was transitioned to a professorstudent research group collaborative project, in response toExpand
Variational-LSTM autoencoder to forecast the spread of coronavirus across the globe
TLDR
A novel variational-LSTM Autoencoder model to predict the spread of coronavirus for each country across the globe and learns to generate a graph to adjust the spatial dependences among different countries while forecasting the spread is introduced. Expand
A robust nonlinear mixed-effects model for COVID-19 death data
The analysis of complex longitudinal data such as COVID-19 deaths is challenging due to several inherent features: (i) Similarly-shaped profiles with different decay patterns; (ii) UnexplainedExpand
Understanding the spatio‐temporal pattern of COVID‐19 outbreak in India using GIS and India's response in managing the Pandemic
Abstract Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, humans all over the world are facing several health problems. The present study has explored the spatio‐temporal pattern of Coronavirus spread in IndiaExpand
