We present new direct-detection constraints on eV-to-GeV dark matter interacting with electrons using a prototype detector of the Sub-Electron-Noise Skipper-CCD Experimental Instrument. The results are based on data taken in the MINOS cavern at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. We focus on data obtained with two distinct readout strategies. For the first strategy, we read out the Skipper CCD continuously, accumulating an exposure of 0.177 g day. While we observe no events containing…

SENSEI: Direct-Detection Results on sub-GeV Dark Matter from a New Skipper CCD.
TLDR
Using 24 days of data acquired in the MINOS cavern at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, the lowest rates in silicon detectors of events containing one, two, three, or four electrons are measured, and world-leading sensitivity is achieved for a large range of sub-GeV dark matter masses.
Constraints on the electron-hole pair creation energy and Fano factor below 150 eV from Compton scattering in a Skipper-CCD
Fully-depleted thick silicon Skipper-charge-coupled devices (Skipper-CCDs) are an important technology to probe neutrino and light-dark-matter interactions due to their sub-electron readout noise.
Projected sensitivity to sub-GeV dark matter of next-generation semiconductor detectors
We compute the projected sensitivity to dark matter (DM) particles in the sub-GeV mass range of future direct detection experiments using germanium and silicon semiconductor targets. We perform this
LBECA: A Low Background Electron Counting Apparatus for Sub-GeV Dark Matter Detection
Two-phase noble liquid detectors, with large target masses and effective background reduction, are currently leading the dark matter direct detection for WIMP masses above a few GeV. Due to their

Sources of Low-Energy Events in Low-Threshold Dark-Matter and Neutrino Detectors
We discuss several low-energy backgrounds to sub-GeV dark matter searches, which arise from high-energy particles of cosmic or radioactive origin that interact with detector materials. We focus in

SENSEI: First Direct-Detection Constraints on Sub-GeV Dark Matter from a Surface Run.
TLDR
The first results from a prototype SENSEI detector are reported, and the implications of these data for several dark matter candidates are discussed, including one model proposed to explain the anomalously large 21-cm signal observed by the EDGES Collaboration.
Single-Electron and Single-Photon Sensitivity with a Silicon Skipper CCD.

TLDR
These results are the most stringent direct detection constraints on hidden-photon dark matter in the galactic halo with masses 3-12  eV c^{-2} and the first demonstration of direct experimental sensitivity to ionization signals <12‬V from dark matter interactions.
