We introduce the simulation tool SABCEMM (Simulator for Agent-Based Computational Economic Market Models) for agent-based computational economic market (ABCEM) models. Our simulation tool is implemented in C++ and we can easily run ABCEM models with several million agents. The object-oriented software design enables the isolated implementation of building blocks for ABCEM models, such as agent types and market mechanisms. The user can design and compare ABCEM models in a unified environment by…

Simulation of Stylized Facts in Agent-Based Computational Economic Market Models

New ABCEM models created by recombining existing models are presented and Study of the qualitative and quantitative appearance of stylized facts in several agent-based computational economic market models.

Robust Mathematical formulation and Probabilistic Description of Agent-based Computational Economic Market Models

This study discusses two aspects, numerical modeling and the probabilistic description for two agent-based computational economic market models: the Levy–Levy–Solomon model and the Franke–Westerhoff model, and derives time-continuous formulations of both models.

Robust Mathematical Formulation of Agent-Based Computational Economic Market Models

This study discusses two aspects of numerical modeling for two agent-based computational economic market models: the Levy-Levy-Solomon model and the Franke-Westerhoff model and derives time-continuous formulations of both models.

Novel insights in the Levy–Levy–Solomon agent-based economic market model

The Levy-Levy-Solomon model (A microscopic model of the stock market: cycles, booms, and crashes, Economic Letters 45 (1))is one of the most influential agent-based economic market models. In several

    Mathematics and Financial Economics

A microscopic model of interacting financial agents, where each agent is characterized by two portfolios, is introduced, which is able to replicate the most prominent features of financial markets, namely booms and crashes and is derived from microeconomic dynamics.

A Data-Driven Market Simulator for Small Data Environments

A generative model that works reliably in environments where the amount of available training data is notoriously small is presented, and it is shown how a rough paths perspective combined with a parsimonious Variational Autoencoder framework provides a powerful way for encoding and evaluating financial time series in such environments where availableTraining data is scarce.

Market Dynamics and Regulation of a Crowd-Sourced AI Marketplace

The results indicate that very stringent regulatory measures negatively affect the production of quality data sets in the marketplace and regulatory oversight along with a ratings-based feedback mechanism improves the functioning of an AIM, and hence is recommended for governments and policy makers to adopt.

Stylized Facts and Agent-Based Modeling

The existence of stylized facts in financial data has been documented in many studies. In the past decade the modeling of financial markets by agent-based computational economic market models has

Service provider strategies in telecommunications markets: analytical and simulation analysis

The telecommunications industry has evolved from voice-centric to provisioning of broadband data services. As witnessed in countries around the world, the industry has an oligopoly market structure

Survey of Agent Based Modelling and Simulation Tools

The most common uses of agent Based Modelling and Simulation are in social simulation and optimisation problems, such as traffic flow and supply chains, and this work will investigate other uses in computational science and engineering.

Evaluation of free Java-libraries for social-scientific agent based simulation

This paper compares four freely available programming libraries for support of social scientific agent based computer simulation: RePast, Swarm, Quicksilver, and VSEit. Our aim is evaluation to

Agent-Based Modeling: The Santa Fe Institute Artificial Stock Market Model Revisited

This book reconciles the existence of technical trading with the Efficient Market Hypothesis. By analyzing a well-known agent-based model, the Santa Fe Institute Artificial Stock Market (SFI-ASM), it

Tools of the Trade: A Survey of Various Agent Based Modeling Platforms

This paper examines the entire continuum of agent based toolkits and characterize each based on 5 important characteristics users consider when choosing a toolkit, and then categorize the characteristics into user-friendly taxonomies that aid in rapid indexing and easy reference.

Agent-based models of financial markets

This review deals with several microscopic (‘agent-based’) models of financial markets which have been studied by economists and physicists over the last decade: Kim–Markowitz, Levy–Levy–Solomon,

Agent-Based Computational Economics: Growing Economies From the Bottom Up

The main objectives and defining characteristics of the ACE methodology are outlined and similarities and distinctions between ACE and artificial life research are discussed and some potential difficulties are discussed.

Microscopic Simulation of the Stock Market: the Effect of Microscopic Diversity

Although the representative individual framework has been shown to be generally illegitimate and erroneous, it continues to be widely used for lack of a more suitable approach. In this paper, we
