A strictly aerobic, Gram-negative, reddish-orange pigmented, non-motile and rod-shaped bacterium, designated AK17-053T was isolated from a marine crustacean (Squillidae) living on tidal flats on the coast of the Ariake Sea, Nagasaki, Japan.
