Abstract A cladistic analysis of the West Palaearctic Scopaeina Mulsant & Rey, 1878 (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae: Paederinae) is presented along with bionomic and biogeographic information. A total of 76 morphological characters were coded for the 88 currently known West Palaearctic species, except for S. bifossicapitata (Outerelo & Oromi, 1987). Results show that Scopaeina comprises two well-supported monophyletic groups in the West Palaearctic, Micranops Cameron, 1913 and Scopaeus Erichson…

On the taxonomy and biogeography of West Palaearctic Scopaeina Mulsant & Rey (Staphylinidae, Paederinae) with emphasis on the Middle East

This contribution supplements the taxonomic and biogeographic knowledge of West Palaearctic species of the paederine subtribe Scopaeina Mulsant & Rey, 1878. Species descriptions and taxonomic changes

A review of the Scopaeus gracilis species group (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae, Paederinae), with description of new species from Sardinia, southern Africa and Middle East

The monophyletic Scopaeus gracilis species group, which is distributed in the West Palaearctic, southern Africa and Madagascar, is revised and its phylogenetic and biogeographical relations are

The rove beetle Scopaeus chalcodactylus (Kolenati, 1846) is for the first time recorded for the territory of the North Caucasus (Kabardino-Balkarian Republic), this finding moreover constitutes the

“Scopaeus limbatus Kraatz” of ancient authors — a monophyletic species group distributed in the Mascarene Islands, the South‐East Palaearctic, the Oriental and the Australian regions (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae, Paederinae)

The S. limbatus species group, a complex of closely related species, which are distributed in the Oriental and the Australian regions, the South-East Palaearctic, and in the Mascarene Islands is described and named.

New species of subterranean Micranops Cameron from the Canary Islands (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae, Paederinae), with a redescription of Micranops bifossicapitatus (Outerelo & Oromí, 1987)

Three new anophthalmous species of the genus Micranops (Staphylinidae, Paederinae, Scopaeina) are added to the rich fauna of endogean and troglobitic Coleoptera of the Canary Islands.

Four new species belonging to the S. elegans species group are described from the Zagros Mountains, and their distribution is mapped, and the present knowledge of Scopaeus in Iran is compiled in a species check list.

Contributions to the faunistics and bionomics of Staphylinidae (Coleoptera) in northeastern North America: discoveries made through study of the University of Guelph Insect Collection, Ontario, Canada

The identification of Staphylinidae (Rove Beetles) from northeastern North America has resulted in the recognition of thirty-five new provincial or state records, six new Canadian records, one new record for the United States and two new records for eastern Canada.

The Scopaeus paliferus species group (Staphylinidae, Paederinae, Scopaeina) from the eastern Palaearctic, with exclusion of Scopaeus anhuiensis Li, 1993 from the Scopaeina Mulsant & Rey, 1878

Two species constitute the monophyletic S. paliferus species group in the eastern Palaearctic and are described and their primary and secondary sexual characters are figured.
