  • The consequences of the assumption that the magnetosphere of Jupiter corotates with the planet are examined. It is found convenient to divide the magnetosphere into two regions. The inner region is qualitatively similar to the magnetosphere of the Earth provided that the ratio of the scale height to the radius of Jupiter is much less than 112.
