We find rotating black hole solutions in the Randall-Sundrum II (RSII) model, by numerically solving a three-dimensional PDE problem using pseudospectral collocation methods. We compute the area and equatorial inner-most stable orbits of these solutions. For large black holes compared with the AdS length scale, `, the black hole exhibits four-dimensional behaviour, approaching the Kerr metric on the brane, whilst for small black holes, the solution tends instead towards a fivedimensional Myers… Expand

Perturbative construction of stationary Randall-Sundrum II black holes on a 5-brane
A bstractWe numerically construct large Randall-Sundrum II brane black holes in 4 and 5 dimensions from associated AdS/CFT spacetimes. Our solutions are leading order perturbations of aExpand
Black Hole Formation in Randall-Sundrum II Braneworlds.
This work presents the first numerical study of the full dynamics of a braneworld scenario, working within the framework of the single brane model of Randall and Sundrum, and finds preliminary evidence that the black holes generated form a unique sequence, irrespective of the details of the initial data. Charged Randall-Sundrum black holes and = 4 super Yang-Mills in AdS2 × S2
We obtain some exact results for black holes in the Randall-Sundrum model with a single brane. We consider an extreme black hole charged with respect to a Maxwell field on the brane. The near-horizonExpand
Gravity and large black holes in Randall-Sundrum II braneworlds.
The boundary conditions are modified to numerically construct large RSII static black holes with radius up to ~20ℓ and the RSII solutions are indeed close to the associated AdS(5)-CFT(4) solution. Expand
Black holes in higher dimensional space-times
Black hole solutions to Einstein's equations are examined in asymptotically flat N + 1 dimensional space-times. First generalizations of Schwarzschild and Reissner-Nordstrom solutions are examined inExpand
On the existence and dynamics of braneworld black holes
Based on holographic arguments Tanaka and Emparan et al have claimed that large localized static black holes do not exist in the one-brane Randall-Sundrum model. If such black holes areExpand
Hawking radiation from AdS black holes
We study Hartle–Hawking-like states of quantum field theories on asymptotically AdS black hole backgrounds, with particular regard to the phase structure of interacting theories. By a suitableExpand
We study the stability of a massive scalar field in the exterior metric of a rotating Kerr black hole. An argument based on energy conversation shows, under some strong technical assumptions, thatExpand
Phases of holographic Hawking radiation on spatially compact spacetimes
A bstractWe study phases of equilibrium Hawking radiation in d-dimensional holo- graphic CFTs on spatially compact spacetimes with two black holes. In the particular phases chosen the dual (d +Expand
Black funnels and droplets from the AdS C-metrics
We recently argued that the dynamics of strongly coupled field theories in black hole backgrounds is related via the AdS/CFT correspondence to two new classes of AdS black hole solutions: blackExpand
