A new glucosyl totarane diterpene named rospiglioside, together with seven known abietane and totarane diterpenes identified as ferruginol, sugiol, sugiol acetate, totarol, totarol acetate, 4β-car- boxy-19-nortotarol and 16-hydroxy-4β-carboxy-19-nortotarol have been isolated from the leaves of Retrophyllum rospigliosii (Pilger) C. N. Page (Podocarpaceae). The structure of rospiglioside was estab- lished on the basis of spectroscopic methods, mainly 1D- and 2D- NMR experiments.

Chemical Composition and Antibacterial Activity of the Essential Oil of Retrophyllum rospigliosii (Pilger) C. N. Page Leaves from Colombia
Abstract The essential oil from leaves of Retrophyllum rospigliosii (Pilger) C.N. Page grown in Colombia was analyzed by GC and GC-MS. Sixty-eight compounds were identified, of which the most
Six living species of the genus Retrophyllum C.N. Page (Podocarpaceae) are revised and the typification of Nageia minor comprehensively discussed in an appendix, a key to the six species recognised is given.
Diterpenoids Isolated from Podocarpus macrophyllus Inhibited the Inflammatory Mediators in LPS-Induced HT-29 and RAW 264.7 Cells
A new, 16-hydroxy-4β-carboxy-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-19-nor-totarol together with three known diterpenoids from P. macrophyllus could be employed as potential therapeutic phytochemicals for IBD.
