The taxonomic position of a novel marine bacterium isolated from the green alga Ulva fenestrata collected in the Sea of Japan was established. Cells of the strain studied, designated KMM 6017T, were strictly aerobic, heterotrophic, pink-pigmented, non-motile by gliding, Gram-negative and oxidase-, catalase-, beta-galactosidase- and alkaline phosphatase-positive. 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis indicated that the strain occupied a distinct lineage within the phylum 'Bacteroidetes' and formed a…

Fulvivirga aurantia sp. nov. and Xanthovirga aplysinae gen. nov., sp. nov., marine bacteria isolated from the sponge Aplysina fistularis, and emended description of the genus Fulvivirga.
TLDR
Investigation of nearly full-length 16S rRNA gene and whole genome-based phylogenies revealed that both strains belong to the order CyTophagales within the class Cytophagia and phylum Bacteroidetes.
Description of Fabibacter halotolerans gen. nov., sp. nov. and Roseivirga spongicola sp. nov., and reclassification of [Marinicola] seohaensis as Roseivirga seohaensis comb. nov.
TLDR
The results of phylogenetic analyses in this study support the reclassification of [Marinicola] seohaensis as Roseivirga spongicola comb, and propose that strain UST030701-097T represents a novel genus and that strainUST030301-084T represent a novel species in the phylum Bacteroidetes.
