Activated Ras utilises several downstream pathways, including the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) kinase (MEK)/MAPK pathway and the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI-3k)/Akt pathway, to promote cell proliferation and to inhibit apoptosis.
