Wnt signalling has an essential role in regulating bone formation and remodelling during embryonic development and throughout postnatal and adult life. Specifically, Wnt signalling regulates bone formation by controlling embryonic cartilage development and postnatal chondrogenesis, osteoblastogenesis, osteoclastogenesis, endochondral bone formation, and bone remodelling.
