In human granulosa-lutein cells, high-density lipoproteins (HDL) can stimulate progesterone synthesis. The objective of the present study was to establish whether prostaglandins (PGs) participate in the steroidogenic response to HDL. Both HDL and apolipoprotein AI (ApoAI) stimulated concentration-dependent increases in PGE2, cAMP and progesterone accumulation.
