Role of transverse optical lattice vibrations in self-trapping of powerful light pulses.

Abstract

This paper gives an account of the behavior of TO, q = 0 crystal vibration in an electric field with regard to the frequency shift as well as to the ability to produce self-trapping. The roles of LO and TO modes in the self-trapping effect are compared.
