Therapeutic plasmapheresis is an effective therapy in the management of CIDP. A varying percentage of patients, approximately 30 to 60%, may benefit from the treatment. The optimal frequency and volume of PE need to be clarified, but, taking into account the heterogeneity of the disease, a too rigid approach should be avoided.
