To investigate the involvement of the medullary raphé in thermoregulatory vasomotor control, we chemically manipulated raphé neuronal activity while monitoring the tail vasomotor response to preoptic warming. For comparison, neuronal activity in the rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM) was manipulated in similar experiments.
