We find necessary and sufficient conditions to determine the inter-convertibility of quantum systems under time-translation covariant evolution, and use it to solve several problems in quantum thermodynamics both in the single-shot and asymptotic regimes. It is well known that the resource theory of quantum athermality is not reversible, but in PRL 111, 250404 (2013) it was claimed that the theory becomes reversible “provided a sublinear amount of coherent superposition over energy levels is…

Continuity of quantum entropic quantities via almost convexity

This work introduces the almost locally affine (ALAFF) method, which allows us to prove a great variety of continuity bounds for the derived entropic quantities and proves almost concavity for the Umegaki relative entropy and the BS-entropy.

Smooth Metric Adjusted Skew Information Rates

It is proven that the smooth metric adjusted skew information rates provide a lower bound for the coherence cost and an upper Bound for the distillable coherence.

Thermodynamic state convertibility is determined by qubit cooling and heating

Thermodynamics plays an important role both in the foundations of physics and in technological applications. An operational perspective adopted in recent years is to formulate it as a quantum

Operational Interpretation of Quantum Fisher Information in Quantum Thermodynamics.

In the framework of quantum thermodynamics preparing a quantum system in a general state requires the consumption of two distinct resources, namely, work and energetic coherence. It has been shown

Beyond i.i.d. in the Resource Theory of Asymmetry: An Information-Spectrum Approach for Quantum Fisher Information

Energetic coherence is a valuable resource for various operations, including precise measurement of time and acceleration of quantum manipulations. Since energetic coherence is fragile, it is

Quantum thermodynamics

Quantum thermodynamics is an emerging research field aiming to extend standard thermodynamics and non-equilibrium statistical physics to ensembles of sizes well below the thermodynamic limit, in

Quantum Information Processing with Finite Resources - Mathematical Foundations

This book provides the reader with the mathematical framework required to fully explore the potential of small quantum information processing devices, and introduces the formalism of quantum mechanics, with particular emphasis on norms and metrics for quantum states.

Fisher information matrix as a resource measure in resource theory of asymmetry with general connected Lie group symmetry

In recent years, in quantum information theory, there has been a remarkable development in the general theoretical framework for studying symmetry in dynamics. This development, called resource
