We illustrate how recently improved low-redshift cosmological measurements can tighten constraints on neutrino properties. In particular we examine the impact of the assumed cosmological model on the constraints. We first consider the new HST H{sub 0} = 74.2±3.6 measurement by Riess et al. (2009) and the σ{sub 8}(Ω{sub m}/0.25){sup 0.41} = 0.832±0.033 constraint from Rozo et al. (2009) derived from the SDSS maxBCG Cluster Catalog. In a ΛCDM model and when combined with WMAP5 constraints, these… Expand

Observational constraints on cosmic neutrinos and dark energy revisited
Using several cosmological observations, i.e. the cosmic microwave background anisotropies (WMAP), the weak gravitational lensing (CFHTLS), the measurements of baryon acoustic oscillationsExpand
Robust cosmological bounds on neutrinos and their combination with oscillation results
We perform a global analysis of cosmological observables in generalized cosmologies which depart from ΛCDM models by allowing non-vanishing curvature Ωk 6= 0, dark energy with equation of state withExpand
Constraints on massive neutrinos from the CFHTLS angular power spectrum
We use the galaxy angular power spectrum at z ~ 0.5–1.2 from the Canada-France-Hawaii-Telescope Legacy Survey Wide fields (CFHTLS-Wide) to constrain separately the total neutrino mass ∑mν and theExpand
Tests of Neutrino and Dark Radiation Models from Galaxy and CMB surveys
We analyze the ability of galaxy and CMB lensing surveys to constrain massive neutrinos and new models of dark radiation. We present a Fisher forecast analysis for neutrino mass constraints with theExpand
Cosmological neutrino mass constraint from the WiggleZ Dark Energy Survey
The absolute neutrino mass scale is currently unknown, but can be constrained from cosmology. We use the large-scale structure information from the WiggleZ Dark Energy Survey to constrain the sum ofExpand
Constraints on neutrino physics from cosmology
We discuss the latest constraints from cosmology on the neutrino number and mass. We show that the cosmological data we considered are clearly suggesting the presence for an extra relativisticExpand
NEW NEUTRINO MASS BOUNDS FROM SDSS-III DATA RELEASE 8 PHOTOMETRIC LUMINOUS GALAXIES
We present neutrino mass bounds using 900,000 luminous galaxies with photometric redshifts measured from Sloan Digital Sky Survey III Data Release 8. The galaxies have photometric redshifts between zExpand
CONSTRAINTS ON COSMOLOGY FROM THE COSMIC MICROWAVE BACKGROUND POWER SPECTRUM OF THE 2500 deg2 SPT-SZ SURVEY
We explore extensions to the ΛCDM cosmology using measurements of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) from the recent SPT-SZ survey, along with data from WMAP7 and measurements of H_0 and baryonExpand
The observed growth of massive galaxy clusters – IV. Robust constraints on neutrino properties
This is the fourth of a series of papers in which we derive simultaneous constraints on cosmological parameters and X-ray scaling relations using observations of the growth of massive, X-rayExpand
