A new method is proposed that, independently from the network size, is able to not only report the relevance of binary node metadata, but also rank them, and is applied in two heterogeneous cases: a temporal network of technology transfer and a protein-protein interaction network.

Simulations showed that the actual network was far from the worst scenario for the propagation of contagion, meaning that the role of unobserved links can substantially alter the resilience of the whole network.
