This article examines the morphosemantic and phonological structure of Russian rhyming paired words such as gogolj-mogolj, plaksa-vaksa, and devočka-pripevočka, building on the research of earlier linguists into this phenomenon. The perspective taken here is that these are echo-words formed by a correspondence relationship that simultaneously produces both rhyme and reduplication.
