Gastrins, including amidated gastrin (Gamide) and glycine-extended gastrin (Ggly), accelerate the growth of gastrointestinal cancer cells by stimulation of proliferation and inhibition of apoptosis. Gamide and Ggly activate different G proteins of the Rho family of small GTPases.
