The review reports various questions about Reye's syndrome and Reye's‐like syndromes. Although there is a significant decrease in the classic Reye's syndrome cases, because of the reduced employment of salicylates in children (salicylate seems to be the most important inducing factor of the syndrome in paediatric subjects affected by viral infection), the problem is still of interest considering the presence of different Reye's‐like forms. All these pathological situations are associated with…
Atypical Reye syndrome: three cases of a problem that pediatricians should consider and remember
TLDR
The syndrome prognosis is related to the stage of the syndrome and the rapidity and the adequateness of intensive care treatments, and the analysis of the patients leads to a greater awareness of the difficult diagnosis of this not well completely known syndrome.
REYE-LIKE SYNDROME IN THREE-YEAR-OLD CHILD
TLDR
The article reviews the literature on classical and atypical Reye’s syndrome, explores the circumstances that contribute to its  occurrence, provides criteria for diagnosing with an illustration in the form of an authentic case of Reye-like disease in a child of 3 years  old, and discusses the appropriateness of dividing the syndrome into classical andAtypical.
Non Salicylate-Associated Reye Syndrome: A Case Report
TLDR
A four-month-old boy with diagnosis of RS was described, who presented with malaise, cyanosis and decreased level of consciousness, but the history of salicylates consumption was negative for him and his mother.
Reye ' s Syndrome Arising from the Treatment of Kawasaki Disease
TLDR
Paediatricians and emergency physicians can consider using a low dose of aspirin (3-5 mg/kg) as maintenance therapy, discontinuing aspirin for a short period or replace it with dipyridamole during influenza or varicella epidemics, and having a high index of suspicion of Reye's syndrome in patients with Kawasaki disease.
Reye’s Syndrome or Primary Mitochondrial Disorder: A Diagnostic Dilemma
TLDR
A 7-month-old male child (resident of Ambala, Haryana) was admitted at PGIMER with complaints of fever, cough, rapid breathing and altered sensorium for the last 2 days and developed drowsiness/altered sensorium which was preceded by an episode of doubtful seizure.
Reye's Syndrome
Hyperammonemic encephalopathy as a manifestation of Reye syndrome in a previously-healthy 14-year-old girl: a case report
TLDR
This case details an atypical presentation of Reye syndrome in an adolescent girl whose course was unexpectedly complicated by dialysis disequilibrium syndrome, occurring as a result of rapid metabolic shifts in the setting of urgent hemodialysis.
Рея-подобный синдром у ребенка 3 лет

[Reye's syndrome. A current entity which remains enigmatic].
TLDR
An epidemiological study appears necessary for a better understanding of this mysterious syndrome and there is a need for a biological marker of the mitochondrial injury.
Metabolic disorders mimicking Reye's syndrome.
TLDR
A significant number of patients who present with Reye's-like syndrome have an underlying inherited metabolic disorder, and an accurate diagnosis is essential to ensure normal growth and development and to prevent recurrence of the condition.
Reye’s Syndrome
TLDR
Even when major influenza outbreaks occur in the future, Reye’s syndrome is preventable provided government health warnings are heeded and the cogent evidence set forth here is acted upon by the parents of feverish children and self-medicating teenagers.

Aspirin and Reye Syndrome
TLDR
The suggestion of a defined cause-effect relationship between aspirin intake and Reye syndrome in children is not supported by sufficient facts, and a balanced view of whether treatment with a certain drug is justified in terms of the benefit/risk ratio is always necessary.
Reye's syndrome in nonpediatric age groups.
TLDR
Patients with Reye's syndrome were initially seen by internists following a viral prodrome followed by vomiting and encephalopathy without focal neurological signs or jaundice, which supported the diagnosis.
Reye syndrome revisited: a descriptive term covering a group of heterogeneous disorders
TLDR
A detailed analysis of the epidemiological surveys of the Centers for Disease Control, the Yale study and of the British risk factor study provides evidence that not only the use of acetylsalicylic acid but also that of phenothiazines and other anti-emetics is significantly greater in Reye syndrome cases than in controls.
Reye's syndrome and aspirin: lest we forget
TLDR
A boy aged 12.5 years had flu-like symptoms of mild fever, headache, and generalised aches for five days, after which his symptoms seemed to resolve, but 12 hours later he began vomiting, and this continued almost hourly for 24 hours, at which time his parents sought medical help.
Reye's and Reye-like syndromes, drug-related diseases? (causative agents, etiology, pathogenesis, and therapeutic approaches).
TLDR
It is suggested that the generalized damage and encephalopathy seen in both RS and RLS may be due to a wide variety of causative agents that contribute to a common derangement, principally involving mitochondrial oxidative pathway.
Co-existence of hepatitis A and adult Reye's syndrome.
TLDR
A case of Reye's syndrome in a 47 year old, previously healthy woman precipitated by ingestion of ASA and acute hepatitis A virus infection is described.
