Monophyly of a group of four species of Anastrepha is proposed based on characters of the head and the male terminalia. The group includes A. schausi Aldrich; A. fernandezi Caraballo; A. hermosa Norrbom, n. sp.; and A. bellicauda Norrbom, n. sp. Sexual dimorphism in these species is noted. A discussion of morphological terminology in the Tephritoidea, especially concerning female terminalia, is presented.
A revision of the striatella species group of the genus Rhagoletis (Diptera: Tephritidae)

The species of the genus Plagiocephalus are reviewed, providing new diagnostic characters, an identification key, and new information on the terminalia of Plagiae, and the geographic distribution of the species is updated. Expand
[Measurement of the aculeus for the characterization of five Anastrepha species of the fraterculus group (Diptera: Tephritidae)].
TLDR
The aculeus and apex lengths of these Anastrepha species cannot be separated based on the two measures exclusively, due to superimposition. Expand
