Revision of Pylopagurus and Tomopagurus (Crustacea: Decapoda: Paguridae), with descriptions of new genera and species. Addendum and taxonomic summary

title={Revision of Pylopagurus and Tomopagurus (Crustacea: Decapoda: Paguridae), with descriptions of new genera and species. Addendum and taxonomic summary},
  author={Rafael Lemaitre and Patsy A. Mclaughlin},
The discovery of two new species, Enallopagurus provenzanoi, and Enallopaguropsis williamsi, has required an addendum and concluding part to the revisionary study of the "Pylopagurus-Tomopagurus" group of genera. The diagnoses of Enallopagurus McLaughlin and Enallopaguropsis McLaughlin, are emended, and a corrected key to the genera is provided. The discovery of additional specimens of Phimochirus randalli (Provenzano) from the Gulf of Mexico has provided supplemental information on the…

Preliminary study of the preungual process in the Paguroidea , with emphasis on the Paguridae ( Crustacea : Decapoda : Anomura )
The fourth pereopods in the Paguroidea are considerably reduced in size, with propodi and dactyls uniquely modified for use inside a variety of shelters. In many Paguridae and some Diogenidae, the
New and rare micro-pagurid hermit crabs (Crustacea: Anomura: Paguridae) from the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico.
Six species of hermit crabs of the family Paguridae from the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico region, including two new species, Anisopagurus asteriscus sp. nov. and Pagurus alarius sp. nov., are
New species of Goreopagurus (Decapoda: Anomura: Paguridae) from Tasmania and reevaluation of sexual tubes in hermit crab systematics
A new, deep-water species is assigned to the hermit crab genus Goreopagurus McLaughlin, 1988, previously known only from western Atlantic and eastern Pacific waters and emended to accommodate this species.
A new species of Pagurus (Crustacea: Decapoda: Paguridae), new records and a redescription of hermit crabs from the Mexican Pacific
A new species of hermit crab of the genus Pagurus Fabricius, 1775, is described and illustrated in detail and resembles Pagurus meloi Lemaitre and Cruz Castano, 2004, but differs from these three species in the armature and setation of the chelipeds and second and third pereopods, the shape and armature of the telson.
Two new species of the Phimochirus holthuisi complex from the Gulf of Mexico, supported by morphology, color, and genetics (Crustacea: Anomura: Paguridae).
Coloration, gene-sequence data, and subtle features in morphology support the description of two new species, both formerly regarded to represent accepted variants of Phimochirus holthuisi s.s.l, which are presently known to occur widely throughout the northern Gulf of Mexico.
Illustrated keys to families and genera of the superfamily Paguroidea (Crustacea: Decapoda: Anomura), with diagnoses of genera of Paguridae
Keys, with illustrations of selected diagnostic characters, are provided for the seven families and 122 genera of the anomuran Superfamily Paguroidea, commonly known as hermit crabs and king crabs.
A New Genus and New Species of Paguridae (Crustacea: Decapoda: Anomura) from the Bohol Sea, the Philippines
The possession of short sexual tubes on both coxae of the fifth pereopods in the male and the lack of a median crest or dorsolateral keel of the left chela distinguish Pliopagurus from Lophopagurus.
New taxonomic and distributional information on hermit crabs (Crustacea: Anomura: Paguroidea) from the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, and Atlantic coast of South America.
A review of published records and museum collections of the terrestrial Coenobita clypeatus has shown that the southern range limit of this species does not extend beyond the southern Caribbean and Trinidad and Tobago, and thus does not occur on the Brazilian coast as previously believed.
Decapod Crustacea of the Californian and Oregonian Zoogeographic Provinces
Approximately 325 species of decapod crustaceans are reported from the Californian and Oregonian zoogeographicprovinces, a figure that includes all freshwater, estuarine, and marine (intertidal zone
Pagurus ikedai (Crustacea: Anomura: Paguridae), a new hermit crab species of the bernhardus group from Japanese waters
A new species of Paguridae, Pagurus ikedai, from the Tokyo Submarine Canyon and vicinity, Japan, is described and fully illustrated, including information on live coloration. This new species is

Revision of Pylopagurus and Tomopagurus (Crustacea: Decapoda: Paguridae), with descriptions of new genera and species. Part VI. Pylopagurus A. Milne-Edwareds & Bouvier, 1891, Haigia McLaughlin, 1981, and Pylopaguridium , a new genus
These genera bridge phylogenetic gaps between those genera with highly specialized male secondary sexual adaptations, other genera in which females develop modified paired first pleopods, and those more simplistic genera such as the heterogeneous genus Pagurus Fabricius, 1775.
Crustacea Decapoda: Albuneidae and Hippidae of the tropical Indo-West Pacific region
Two new species of the sand crab family Albuneidae Stimpson, 1858 are described from the tropical Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Albunea holthuisi, from Tanzania, Madagascar, and Indonesia, and Austrolepidopa caledonia, from New Caledonia.
The Crustacea Decapoda of Suriname (Dutch Guiana)
The decapod fauna of the three Guianas (British, Dutch, and French) is very poorly known and no comprehensive account of the Decapoda of any of theThree countries has ever been published apart from Young's (1900).

The taxonomic position of Pagurus gracilipes (Stimpson, 1858) and Pagurus nipponensis (Yokoya, 1933), and description of a new species of Pagurus (Decapoda, Anomura, Paguridae) from Japan
