Anisakid nematodes (Nematoda: Anisakidae) from the marine fishes Plectropomus laevis Lacépède (Serranidae) and Sphyraena qenie Klunzinger (Sphyraenidae) off New Caledonia, including two new species of Hysterothylacium Ward & Magath, 1917
- BiologySystematic Parasitology

Two new species of Hysterothylacium Ward & Magath, 1917 are described from the digestive tract of perciform fishes off New Caledonia, one of which is mainly characterised by its large body and the presence of narrow lateral alae and the tail tip which lacks any distinct cuticular projections visible under the light microscope.

The maximum parsimony and neighbour joining tree topologies demonstrated that the Brazilian larvae belong to Raphidascarididae and represent a unique genetic entity, confirmed as a new Hysterothylacium species.
New host and locality records of two nematode parasites Dujardinnascaris mujibii (Heterocheilidae) and Hysterothylacium aduncum (Anisakidae) from the common seabream Pagrus pagrus: a light and scanning electron microscopic study
