An overview of high-performance liquid chromatographic separation techniques (reversed-phase and ion-pair reversed-phase) used in the analysis of purine ribonucleotides, ribonucleosides and nucleobases, including procedures for sample preparation, is given. Coverage of the separation techniques is extended to the measurement of specific radioactivities of these compounds in tracer kinetic experiments for metabolic flux rate analyses.
