In this paper, we introduce two innovations to support mobile IP. First, we present a new routing scheme called reverse routing as an alternative to the current standard-track MIP and ROMIP protocols. Reverse routing retains simplicity of the MIP protocol and direct routing of the ROMIP protocol. At the same time, it eliminates inefficiency of the MIP and complexity of the ROMIP.
