Reversal potential for glutamate responses in hippocampal pyramidal cells.

Abstract

L-Glutamic acid was iontophoresed onto hippocampal CA1 pyramidal neurons. Intracellular recordings revealed that glutamate reliably depolarized all neurons examined. The depolarization evoked by glutamate was voltage sensitivity and had an apparent reversal potential close to 0 mV.
