While the demand for solutions based on Semantic Web Technologies (SWTs) is rapidly growing, engineering a Semantic Web Application (SWA) is still largely an art. We believe that the lack of an end-to-end methodology is a major barrier for industrial uptake of SWTs. In order to empirically prove our thesis, we run two surveys: a preliminary one in summer of 2010 with 26 participants and a broad one in winter and spring 2011 with 111 participants.
