IN previons numbers of this Journal, the writer has given the principal characters of the gigantic Oeratopsidw, or horned Dinosaurs, from the Laramie, with figures of the more important parts of the skull and skeleton.* The abundant material now available for examination makes it possible to attempt a restoration of one characteristic form, and the result is given in Plate XV. This figure, about one-fortieth of natural size, is reduced from a large outline plate of a memoir on this group, now…

A Reevaluation of the Manus Structure in Triceratops (Ceratopsia: Ceratopsidae)

A Triceratops, NSM PV 20379, excavated from the Upper Cretaceous Hell Creek Formation, Bowman County, North Dakota, USA, confirms the articulation of the right forearm and indicates the manus is in a semi-supinated orientation.

A Re-Evaluation of Brachiosaurus altithorax Riggs 1903 (Dinosauria, Sauropoda) and Its Generic Separation from Giraffatitan brancai (Janensch 1914)

A phylogenetic analysis treating the two species as separate OTUs nevertheless recovers them as sister taxa in all most parsimonious trees, reaffirming a monophyletic Brachiosauridae, although only one additional step is required for Giraffatitan to clade among somphospondylians to the exclusion of Brachiosaurus.

The Digital Plateosaurus II: An Assessment of the Range of Motion of the Limbs and Vertebral Column and of Previous Reconstructions using a Digital Skeletal Mount

The motion range of limbs and vertebral column in the prosauropod Plateosaurus engelhardti is assessed in a CAD program using a 3D virtual skeletal mount, highlighting a pattern of errors specific to certain widely used reconstruction methods.

Postcranial Pneumaticity in Dinosaurs and the Origin of the Avian Lung

The Air Space Proportion (ASP) is proposed as a measure of proportional volume of air in pneumatic bones, and indicates that increases in the number of cervical vertebrae, their proportional lengths, and their internal complexity occurred in parallel in most of these lineages.

A possible brachiosaurid (Dinosauria, Sauropoda) from the mid-Cretaceous of northeastern China

An isolated sauropod maxilla from the middle Cretaceous Longjing Formation of the Yanji basin of northeast China is reported, providing the most convincing evidence to date that brachiosaurids dispersed into Asia at some point in their evolutionary history.

Forelimb posture in neoceratopsian dinosaurs: implications for gait and locomotion

The articular surfaces of uncrushed ceratopsian scapulocoracoids and forelimb joints confirm that theForelimb operated in a near-parasagittal plane with the elbows only slightly averted, and the maximal running speed of even the largest ceratopsis is inferred to have significantly exceeded that of elephants and was probably broadly similar to that of rhinos.

Herstellung und Eigenschaften der Ternären Nitride von Vanadin, Niob und Tantal der Zusammensetzung Li7MeN4
