In studies conducted to monitor the development of insecticide resistance among populations of Diatraea saccharalis (F.), Louisiana cultures remained unchanged in their response to azinphosmethyl and monocrotophos. Cultures from 2 locations in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas gave similar responses to those of Louisiana to azinphosmethyl but were 4.5–9X more resistant to monocrotophos, 10–12X more resistant to carbofuran, and 2–8X more resistant (or cross-resistant) to methomyl and methyl… Expand
Interaction of Cultural, Biological, and Varietal Controls for Management of Stalk Borers in Louisiana Sugarcane
TLDR
The history of pest management as it relates to the control of this stem borer in Louisiana sugarcane, and how control practices have become more in tune with integrated pest management paradigms are focused on. Expand
Reduced Susceptibility to Tebufenozide in Populations of the Sugarcane Borer (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) in Louisiana
TLDR
Susceptibility of the sugarcane borer to tebufenozide was measured using a feeding bioassay, and values obtained were compared with baselines generated before the use of this insecticide in Louisiana Sugarcane, Saccharum spp. Expand
Selection and Life History Traits of Tebufenozide-Resistant Sugarcane Borer (Lepidoptera: Crambidae)
TLDR
Varying susceptibility to tebufenozide was recorded in the sugarcane borer, Diatraea saccharalis (F.) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae), collected from Louisiana Sugarcane locations with different selection pressures, and these results are discussed in terms of their practical implications for control of D.saccharalis in Louisiana sugarcanes. Expand
Selection, Egg Viability, and Fecundity of the Sugarcane Borer (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) with Tebufenozide
TLDR
The ovicidal property of tebufenozide may enhance its effectiveness in controlling populations of the D. saccharalis on an area-wide basis. Expand
ARTHROPOD RESISTANCE TO INSECTICIDES: A KEY TO PEST CONTROL FAILURES AND SUCCESSES IN NORTH AMERICAN APPLE ORCHARDS
TLDR
The impact of long‐term O‐P use and resistance in relation to pest problems, insecticide selectivity and IPM, increased biological control, changing requirements for new chemical insecticides and possibilities for “resistance management” within the entire arthropod pest natural enemy complex associated with this crop are discussed. Expand
Monocrotophos — Interaction with Insects, Mites, and Plants
TLDR
This review deals with monocrotophos, a representative of the enolphosphates, and its biological performance. Expand
Sugar-Cane Weed Community Interactions with Arthropods and Pathogens
TLDR
Although some weeds are alternate hosts for SCMV and its aphid vectors, and ratoon stunting disease (RSD), weed growth has not been linked with higher phytophagous nematode infestations or incidence of RSD. Expand
Influence of Vegetation Manipulation and Selected Cultural Practices on Predation in Louisiana Sugarcane Ecosystems (Saccharum, Sorghum, Solenopsis, Spiders, Araneae).
TLDR
This review discusses Vegetation manipulation and predation in Louisiana sugarcane and the effects of cultural practices and soil types on IFA populations. Expand
