A REGIMENTED PROGRAM OF RESISTANCE TRAINING CAN PROVIDE A MULTITUDE OF BENEFITS FOR THE PREGNANT WOMAN. HOWEVER, A WOMAN UNDERGOES SIGNIFICANT PHYSIOLOGICAL AND MORPHOLOGICAL CHANGES THROUGHOUT THE TERM, AND THESE ISSUES NEED TO BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT WHEN DESIGNING A ROUTINE. THEREFORE, THE PURPOSE OF THIS PAPER WILL BE 3-FOLD: (A) REVIEW THE BENEFITS OF MATERNAL RESISTANCE EXERCISE, (B) DISCUSS ITS SAFETY, AND (C) OUTLINE A SPECIFIC RESISTANCE TRAINING PROTOCOL BASED ON THE CURRENT RESEARCH…

STUDENTS ’ CORNER Resistance Training and Pregnancy
TLDR
The preponderance of information suggests that the benefits outweigh the risks of resistance training in pregnant women when appropriate safety measures are implemented and an increasing body of research supports resistance training mediated changes in musculoskeletal fitness, functional status, and wellbeing.
Prenatal Yoga and Mental Health During the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Randomized-Control Trial
TLDR
Yoga appears to benefit the mental health of expectant mothers, even in times of extreme stress, and clinicians are provided with valuable information regarding alternative exercise options for mental health during pregnancy during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Interventions for preventing and treating low-back and pelvic pain during pregnancy.
TLDR
A meta-analysis of 34 RCTs of any treatment, or combination of treatments, to prevent or reduce the incidence or severity of low-back pain, pelvic pain or both, related functional disability, sick leave and adverse effects during pregnancy provided low-quality evidence that any land-based exercise significantly reduced pain.
Interventions for preventing and treating pelvic and back pain in pregnancy.
TLDR
There was moderate-quality evidence that acupuncture significantly reduced evening pain better than exercise; both were better than usual care and function improved more when acupuncture was started at 26- rather than 20- weeks' gestation.
Manual Venezolano de Diabetes Gestacional
TLDR
This manual will focus on prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus and can serve as a basis for integrating health team to serve the authors' patient.
CONSENSO SOBRE DIABETES GESTACIONAL, UN PROBLEMA URGENTE, QUE COMPROMETE EL FUTURO DE LOS VENEZOLANOS.

TLDR
The physiologic and morphologic changes of pregnancy may interfere with the ability to engage safely in some forms of physical activity, and participation in a wide range of recreational activities appears to be safe during pregnancy; however, each sport should be reviewed individually for its potential risk.

TLDR
The hypothesis tested here is that training of sufficiently high volume during pregnancy can maintain initial fitness levels and that high‐volume training during pregnancy in initially fit women does not pose a health risk for the mother or the fetus.
Does exercise training during pregnancy affect gestational age? A randomised controlled trial
TLDR
Previously sedentary, healthy gravidae with singleton gestation can safely engage in moderate, supervised exercise programmes until the end of gestation as this would not affect gestational age.

Recent advances in understanding maternal and fetal responses to exercise.
TLDR
The objective of this communication is to review recent investigations in this area and present information that will stimulate new and innovative research designs for exercise and pregnancy studies, and add significantly to knowledge and ability to develop safe and effective exercise programs for women who wish to remain physically active throughout a normal-term pregnancy.

TLDR
Moderate aerobic exercise is safe and beneficial for most women, if appropriate guidelines are followed, and is probably safe for women who are overweight initially.
Canadian Guidelines for Exercise in Pregnancy
TLDR
The idea that a dose-response relationship existed between the quantity and quality of exercise and maternal/fetal well-being quickly emerged and led to the need for absolute and relative medical contraindications to exercise and theneed for medical screening by a qualified health care provider before engaging in fitness training after becoming pregnant.
