An improved operation of charge-sensitive infrared (IR) phototransistor (CSIP) is demonstrated by adding a reset function. The phototransistor is fabricated in a GaAs/AlGaAs double quantum-well (QW) structure. The upper QW is lithographically defined to form an isolated island.
