A portable softness haptic display device was developed.The Gauss deformation model was proposed to simulate the deformation of virtual objects.Then a virtual softness haptic display system was developed that provided visual and haptic feedback synchronously allowing operators to manipulate objects in the virtual environment.According to the simulation results,the softness haptic display device was proved to be efficient and credible.And the Gauss deformation model was proved to be feasibility.
