The control equation of transient flow on oil pipeline was discretized. Based on extended Kalman filtering, the robust adaptive Kalman filter was designed with fictitious noise compensation method. The input and output vector of the distributed parameter system (DPS) were created to observe pressures at inlet, outlet and at the middle of the pipeline.
