Nematode trapping fungi captured nematode by forming different types of structure in a way to get supplement of nitrogen from the nematode, just like carnivorous plants. Fungal parasites of nematodes are broadly classified as either predaceous or endoparasitic. The genus Nematoctonus is unique in that some species are endoparasitic and some species are predaceous by established criteria. The generic diagnosis for Nematoctonus was given by Dreschsler that one assimilative hyphae which is hyaline… Expand

Nematode Attraction By An Extract Of A Predaceous Fungus
TLDR
The primary purpose of this study was to determine the nematode attraction ability of a predaceous fungus extract and whether or not liquid extracts of the fungus contained a nematodes attraction substance(s). Expand
Induction of Nematode-Trapping Organs in the Predacious Fungus Arthrobotrys oligospora (Hyphomycetales) by Infective Larvae of Ostertagia ostertagi (Trichostrongylidae)
TLDR
It was shown that a proportion of trapping nets in A. oligospora maintained their trapping potential for more than 7 weeks when the temperature was below 25°C, and the composition of the medium had an important influence on the saprophytic growth and the net-forming capability of A.ligospora. Nematophagous fungi: Hohenbuehelia, the perfect state of Nematoctonus
TLDR
Crossing single basidiospore cultures demonstrated bipolar sexuality for this species of Hohenbuehelia and the implications of these findings are discussed. Expand
Interactions of Bacteria, Fungi, and their Nematode Grazers: Effects on Nutrient Cycling and Plant Growth
TLDR
The results support claims in the literature that microbial grazers may perform important regulatory functions at critical times in the growth of plants and support a conceptual model proposed in which microfloral grazers were considered as separate state variables. Expand
Nematode-trapping fungi in organic and conventional cropping systems.
TLDR
Bacterivorous nematodes were more abundant and microbial biomass (substrate-induced respiration) was greater in organic than in conventional plots and suppression of the root-knot nematode Meloidogyne javanica was not related to management system or population density but was positively related to microbial biomass. Expand
A new and cheaper technique for rapid multiplication of Arthrobotrys conoides and its potential as a boi-nematicide in mushroom culture
TLDR
Application de Arthrobotrys conoides a la lutte microbiologique contre le nematode Aphelenchoides composticola, qui est un depredateur des cultures du champignon comestible Agaricus bisporus. Expand
