During taxonomic investigations of nematodes that parasitize millipedes, we reviewed the literature on the nematode genus Robertia Travassos & Kloss, 1961. This literature search also revealed the existence of two other identical genus-group names for taxa in Chordata and Arthropoda: Robertia Boonstra, 1948 (extinct Permian non-mammalian synapsid) and Robertia Saaristo, 2006 (theridiid spider from the Seychelles), respectively. Of these three homonyms, Robertia Boonstra, 1948 clearly has… Expand
A New Species of Triumphalisnema (Nematoda: Coronostomatoidea) Parasite of Proculejus hirtus (Coleoptera: Passalidae) from Mexico, and the Position of the Family in the Oxyuridomorpha
ABSTRACT A new species of the nematode Triumphalisnema Kloss, 1962 (Oxyuridomorpha), is described from the wood beetle Proculejus hirtus Truqui from the mountain mesophilic forest in Hidalgo State,Expand
Coronostoma claireae n. sp. (Nematoda: Rhabditida: Oxyuridomorpha: Coronostomatidae) from the Indigenous Milliped Narceus gordanus (Chamberlain, 1943) (Diplopoda: Spirobolida) in Ocala National Forest, Florida.
TLDR
Twenty-four individuals of Narceus gordanus (Diplopoda: Spirobolidae) were collected in Ocala National Forest, FL, between November 2013 and July 2014, and this species is the first North American record for the genus Coronostoma, which is removed from Thelastomatoidea: The lastomatidae and reassigned to Coronosteroids on the basis of presumed apomorphies. CRANIAL ANATOMY AND TAXONOMY OF THE LATE PERMIAN DICYNODONT DIICTODON
TLDR
Reexamination of the cranial anatomy of the abundant Late Permian dicynodont Diictodon confirms suggestions that only one species, D. feliceps, is recognizable, and suggests that tusked and tuskless specimens do indeed represent distinct biological categories, but it seems highly probable that they are divisions within a single species rather than distinct species.
