Repeated exposure of rats to withdrawal from chronic ethanol reduces hippocampal long-term potentiation and gives rise to epileptiform-like activity in hippocampus. We investigated whether such withdrawal experience also affects learning in tasks thought to be sensitive to hippocampal damage.
