TO THE EDITOR: We describe what we believe to be the first case of a renin-secreting adenocarcinoma of the colon. A 66-year-old retired schoolteacher presented with a 3-month history of headaches, vomiting, constipation, and weight loss. She had severe hypertension (blood pressure, 210/140 mm Hg) and hypokalemia (potassium level, 2.2 mmol/L). A barium enema showed appearances of cecal carcinoma.
