We have investigated the protective effect of YM598, a selective endothelin type A receptor antagonist, against an endothelin-1-induced proliferation of rat mesangial cells and renal function in Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima Fatty (OLETF) rats, an animal model of type II diabetes.
