Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA)-based communication has enjoyed considerable growth since the introduction of the Virtual Interface Architecture (VIA) in the late 1990s. This growth has accelerated since the introduction of the Open Fabric Alliance’s (OFA) Verbs interface.
