I read with great interest the article by Stadlmayr et al. [1] in a recent issue of Acta Diabetologica. In this article, the authors investigated the association between serum vitamin D and diabetes. The results were very interesting; however, a few pertinent points should be addressed before these results are accepted into clinical practice.
