In subjects with hypertriglyceridemia, plasma concentrations of low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol are often normal or reduced. Perturbations that alter plasma very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) concentrations are associated with opposite changes in plasma LDL levels.
