Because hormones have been implicated in the molecular regulation of the sulfotransferase multigene family, the effects of glucocorticoid and antiglucocorticoid hormones on rat hepatic hydroxysteroid sulfotransferase-a and aryl sulfotransferase IV gene expression were investigated in vivo and in primary rat hepatocyte culture.
