Human keratinocyte growth factor (KGF) is a recently identified mitogen for epithelial cells produced by normal stromal fibroblasts. KGF has been shown to stimulate keratinocyte migration and promote re-epithelialization of skin suggesting a critical role for KGF in wound healing.
