Plants control the time at which they flower by integrating environmental cues such as day length and temperature with an endogenous program of development. Flowering time is a quantitative trait and a model for how precision in gene regulation is delivered. In this review, we reveal that flowering time control is particularly rich in RNA processing-based gene regulatory phenomena.
