Context. The internal structure of pre-main-sequence (PMS) stars is poorly constrained at present. This could change significantly through high-quality asteroseismological observations of a sample of such stars. Aims. We concentrate on an asteroseismological study of HD 261711, a rather hot δ Scuti-type pulsating member of the young open cluster NGC 2264 located at the blue border of the instability region. HD 261711 was discovered to be a PMS δ Scuti star using the time series photometry…
Searching for δ Scuti-type pulsation and characterising northern pre-main-sequence field stars
Context. Pre-main-sequence (PMS) stars are objects evolving from the birthline to the zero-age main sequence (ZAMS). Given a mass range near the ZAMS, the temperatures and luminosities of PMS and
β Cas: The first δ Scuti star with a dynamo magnetic field
Context. F-type stars are characterised by several physical processes such as different pulsation mechanisms, rotation, convection, diffusion, and magnetic fields. The rapidly rotating δ Scuti star β
Two spotted and magnetic early B-type stars in the young open cluster NGC 2264 discovered by MOST and ESPaDOnS
Star clusters are known as superb tools for understanding stellar evolution. In a quest for understanding the physical o rigin of magnetism and chemical peculiarity in about 7% of the massive
A probable pre-main sequence chemically peculiar star in the open cluster Stock 16
We used the Ultraviolet and Visual Echelle Spectrograph of the ESO-Very Large Telescope to obtain a high resolution and high signal-to-noise ratio spectrum of Stock 16-12, an early-type star which
A BRITE view on δ Scuti and γ Doradus stars
δ Scuti stars have spectral types A to early F, masses between ∼1.5 and 4.0 solar masses and pulsation periods between 18 minutes and 6 hours. They typically show multiple radial and non-radial
Stable and unstable accretion in the classical T Tauri stars IM Lup and RU Lup as observed by MOST
Results of the time variability monitoring of the two classical T Tauri stars, RU Lup and IM Lup, are presented. Three photometric data sets were utilised: (1) simultaneous (same field) MOST
Forward Asteroseismic Modeling of Stars with a Convective Core from Gravity-mode Oscillations: Parameter Estimation and Stellar Model Selection
We propose a methodological framework to perform forward asteroseismic modeling of stars with a convective core, based on gravity-mode oscillations. These probe the near-core region in the deep
Echography of young stars reveals their evolution
TLDR
It is demonstrated that a seismic analysis of stars in their earliest evolutionary phases is a powerful method with which to identify young stars and distinguish their evolutionary states, illustrating the potential of asteroseismology for the early evolutionary phases.
Evidence of amplitude modulation due to resonant mode coupling in the δ Scuti star KIC 5892969 A particular or a general case
A study of the star KIC 5892969 observed by the Kepler satellite is presented. Its three highest amplitude modes present a strong amplitude modulation. The aim of this work is to investigate
A BRITE view on delta Scuti and gamma Doradus stars
BRITE-Constellation has obtained data for a few delta Scuti and gamma Doradus type stars. A short overview of the pulsational content found in five stars - beta Cassiopeiae, epsilon Cephei, M

Regular Frequency Patterns In The Classical Delta Scuti Star HD 144277 Observed By The MOST Satellite
Context. We present high-precision time-series photometry of the classical δ Scuti star HD 144277 obtained with the MOST (Microvariability and Oscillations of STars) satellite in two consecutive
MOST observations of the young open cluster NGC 2264
Context. Photometric time series obtained from space are one of the best ways to study pulsations in pre-main sequence (PMS) stars, especially as the corresponding amplitudes are at the
ASTEROSEISMIC ANALYSIS OF THE PRE-MAIN-SEQUENCE STARS IN NGC 2264
NGC 2264 is a young open cluster lying above the Galactic plane in which six variable stars have previously been identified as possible pre-main-sequence (PMS) pulsators. Their oscillation spectra
gamma Doradus pulsation in two pre-main sequence stars discovered by CoRoT
Pulsations in pre-main sequence stars have been discovered several times within the last years. But nearly all of these pulsators are of delta Scuti-type. gamma Doradus-type pulsation in young stars
A multisite photometric campaign on the pre-main-sequence delta Scuti pulsator IP Persei
We present the results of a photometric multisite campaign on the 6 Scuti Pre-Main-Sequence star IP Per. Nine telescopes have been involved in the observations, with a total of about 190 h of
Regularities in frequency spacings of δ Scuti stars: the Kepler star KIC 9700322
In the faint star KIC 9700322 observed by the Kepler satellite, 76 frequencies with amplitudes from 14 to 29000 ppm were detected. The two dominant frequencies at 9.79 and 12.57 c/d (113.3 and 145.5
MOST observations of the Herbig Ae δ-Scuti star HD 34282
ABSTRACT MOSTobservations and model analysis of the Herbig Ae star HD 34282 (V1366 Ori)reveal δScuti pulsations. 22 frequencies are observed, 10 of which confirm those pre-viously identified by Amado
Late stages of the evolution of A-type stars on the main sequence: comparison between observed chemical abundances and diffusion models for 8 Am stars of the Praesepe cluster
Aims. We aim to provide observational constraints on diffusion models that predict peculiar chemical abundances in the atmospheres of Am stars. We also intend to check if chemical peculiarities and
Towards mode selection in δ Scuti stars: regularities in observed and theoretical frequency spectra
ABSTRACT Only a fractionof the theoreticallypredicted nonradialpulsation modes haveso farbeen observed in δ Scuti stars. Nevertheless, the large number of frequencies detectedin recent photometric
PULSATIONAL ANALYSIS OF V 588 MON AND V 589 MON OBSERVED WITH THE MOST AND CoRoT  SATELLITES
The two pulsating pre-main sequence (PMS) stars V 588 Mon and V 589 Mon were observed by CoRoT for 23.4 days in 2008 March during the Short Run SRa01 and in 2004 and 2006 by MOST for a total of ∼70
