Context. The internal structure of pre-main-sequence (PMS) stars is poorly constrained at present. This could change significantly through high-quality asteroseismological observations of a sample of such stars. Aims. We concentrate on an asteroseismological study of HD 261711, a rather hot δ Scuti-type pulsating member of the young open cluster NGC 2264 located at the blue border of the instability region. HD 261711 was discovered to be a PMS δ Scuti star using the time series photometry… Expand

Searching for δ Scuti-type pulsation and characterising northern pre-main-sequence field stars
• Physics

Context. Pre-main-sequence stars (PMS) are objects evolving from the birthline to the zero-age main sequence (ZAMS). Given a mass range near the ZAMS, the temperatures and luminosities ofExpand
Evidence of chaotic modes in the analysis of four δ Scuti stars
• Physics

Context. Since CoRoT observations unveiled the very low amplitude modes that form a flat plateau in the power spectrum structure of δ Scuti stars, the nature of this phenomenon, including theExpand
Two spotted and magnetic early B-type stars in the young open cluster NGC 2264 discovered by MOST and ESPaDOnS
Star clusters are known as superb tools for understanding stellar evolution. In a quest for understanding the physical o rigin of magnetism and chemical peculiarity in about 7% of the massiveExpand

We used the Ultraviolet and Visual Echelle Spectrograph of the ESO-Very Large Telescope to obtain a high resolution and high signal-to-noise ratio spectrum of Stock 16-12, an early-type star whichExpand
Very regular high-frequency pulsation modes in young intermediate-mass stars
The detection of remarkably regular sequences of high-frequency pulsation modes in 60 intermediate-mass main-sequence stars, which enables definitive mode identification and indicates that some of these stars are members of known associations of young stars, as confirmed by modelling of their pulsation spectra. A BRITE view on δ Scuti and γ Doradus stars
δ Scuti stars have spectral types A to early F, masses between ∼1.5 and 4.0 solar masses and pulsation periods between 18 minutes and 6 hours. They typically show multiple radial and non-radialExpand
Stable and unstable accretion in the classical T Tauri stars IM Lup and RU Lup as observed by MOST
Results of the time variability monitoring of the two classical T Tauri stars, RU Lup and IM Lup, are presented. Three photometric data sets were utilised: (1) simultaneous (same field) MOSTExpand
Forward asteroseismic modeling of stars with a convective core from gravity-mode oscillations: parameter estimation and stellar model selection.
We propose a methodological framework to perform forward asteroseismic modeling of stars with a convective core, based on gravity-mode oscillations. These probe the near-core region in the deepExpand
Echography of young stars reveals their evolution
It is demonstrated that a seismic analysis of stars in their earliest evolutionary phases is a powerful method with which to identify young stars and distinguish their evolutionary states, illustrating the potential of asteroseismology for the early evolutionary phases. Expand
Evidence of amplitude modulation due to resonant mode coupling in the δ Scuti star KIC 5892969 A particular or a general case
• Physics
• 2015
A study of the star KIC 5892969 observed by the Kepler satellite is presented. Its three highest amplitude modes present a strong amplitude modulation. The aim of this work is to investigateExpand

ASTEROSEISMIC ANALYSIS OF THE PRE-MAIN-SEQUENCE STARS IN NGC 2264
NGC 2264 is a young open cluster lying above the Galactic plane in which six variable stars have previously been identified as possible pre-main-sequence (PMS) pulsators. Their oscillation spectraExpand
gamma Doradus pulsation in two pre-main sequence stars discovered by CoRoT
