BACKGROUND Tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) is a new non-invasive ultrasound technique that enables quantitative assessment of regional myocardial wall motion. A previous study of survivors of childhood malignancies demonstrated abnormalities of regional diastolic wall motion abnormalities many years after treatment with anthracyclines.
